About the position
A legal insurance and legal services organization is looking to appoint a BI Specialist who will be responsible for reporting, data analysis, dashboard development, and ad hoc data requests across the business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a large reporting workload, that includes end to end projects transforming business requirements into actionable insights.
This role requires an understanding of the corporate environment and business reporting, advanced analytical skills, and experience across the Microsoft data and BI stack.
Requirements:
- Candidate to have at least 60% for higher grade/pure mathematics in matric.
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or equivalent work experience.
- Microsoft certifications in Power BI, Azure Data, or SQL technologies are advantageous
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong business acumen
- Excellent communication and presentation skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Strong stakeholder management skills
Responsibilities will include:
- Own and manage the organization's reporting portfolio. Design, develop, maintain, and enhance operational, management, and executive reports.
- Build and support interactive dashboards.
- Design and develop Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
- Create and maintain data models using best-practice BI methodologies at least 4 years' experience in Data Analytics or Business Intelligence role
