About the position
Our client is seeking a skilled BI Developer to join a dynamic technology environment in Johannesburg. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a data-focused professional who is passionate about transforming complex data into meaningful business insights while developing scalable and high-performing BI solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Business Intelligence solutions and reporting tools
- Build and optimize data models, ETL processes, and data pipelines
- Develop dashboards and reports using Power BI and Qlik Sense
- Gather and analyse business requirements to deliver effective BI solutions
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality across reporting environments
- Support deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of BI platforms
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions
- Monitor and enhance system performance, scalability, and usability
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a BI Developer or in a similar role
- Strong experience with Microsoft Power BI and Qlik Sense
- Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, SQL, Python, Spark, and Synapse technologies
- Experience with ETL development, data modelling, and data warehousing concepts
- Strong understanding of database management and data structures
- Experience delivering BI solutions across the full development lifecycle
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimise BI environments
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field
- Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate certification advantageous
- Additional advanced certifications beneficial
