BESS Support Engineer

About the position

Commissioned >1MWh integrated BESS systems? This role is for serious C&I specialists only.

Is this you?
You've commissioned and worked on troubleshooting fully integrated commercial and industrial BESS systems exceeding 1MWh. You understand hybrid configurations incorporating inverters, battery racks, EMS platforms and gensets - on live sites, not just on paper. Technically credible and confident, you're comfortable engaging directly with clients in high-value environments. You communicate fluently in Afrikaans and English and present professionally on-site.

What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it)
You'll take ownership of advanced post-sales technical support across large-scale C&I battery energy storage projects. This includes commissioning, fault-finding and optimising integrated systems combining BESS, PV, EMS platforms and generator integration. You'll resolve complex system-level issues, support EPC partners during critical phases and ensure operational performance across demanding commercial environments. This is a technically rigorous role requiring proven large-scale experience.

Where you'll be doing it
Based in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, you'll support commercial and industrial renewable energy projects nationally. Our client is a technically focused renewable energy solutions provider delivering integrated solar and storage systems into complex C&I environments. The culture is engineering-led, performance-driven and built on technical credibility.

What you'll need
A Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering and 3-6 years' proven experience commissioning and troubleshooting integrated C&I BESS systems exceeding 1MWh. Demonstrated exposure to EMS platforms, hybrid systems and genset integration is essential. You must be fluent in Afrikaans and English, well-presented, client-facing and willing to travel.
