About the position
A leading food manufacturing and bakery ingredients company is looking for an experienced Bakery Advisor with strong experience in baking, technical product support, FMCG sales, and customer relationship management to join their team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth within the bakery product portfolio, providing technical support to retail customers, and delivering hands-on bakery training and product demonstrations within the retail sector.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct daily baking demonstrations in targeted retail stores
• Provide technical product support, troubleshooting, and complaint resolution
• Drive sales growth and increase product volume within the bakery product portfolio
• Maintain a strong customer-focused sales approach
• Prepare for and participate in trade shows and promotional events
• Monitor and report on market trends, competitor activity, and sales opportunities
• Train internal and external bakers on bakery products and applications
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key accounts
Requirements:
• Grade 12 qualification
• Technical qualification and/or practical baking experience
• Minimum 3 years’ FMCG sales experience
• Strong technical understanding of bakery products and processes
• Fully computer literate in MS Office
• Valid Code 8 driver’s licence
• Willingness to be on call when required
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and perform well under pressure
