JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the installation and administration of IBM Spectrum Protect and Veeam Enterprise Backup Software
- Implementing and maintaining backup retention policies in line with business requirements
- Implementing, maintaining and documenting recovery procedures aligned to DR policy
- Daily / Weekly / Monthly / Yearly backups monitoring and health checks
- Problem resolution and fault finding
- Ensuring that security standards are adhered to
- Testing and evaluating new backup software and hardware features
- Providing support and technical advice operationally and for projects
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or software certifications
- A minimum of 5 years relevant Back Engineer experience
Skills:
- IBM Spectrum Protect and Veeam Backup software
- Network protocols (TCP/IP), Windows
- Redhat Linux - and AIX Unix Server Systems
- Technical Project Management
- ITIL or similar service management principles
- Familiarity with VMWare ESX be an advantage
