About the Role
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be responsible for developing robust backend services, designing efficient data engineering solutions, and ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of mission-critical banking systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions that meet both customer needs and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize backend services using Node.js and Java.
- Build and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and data engineering solutions.
- Integrate backend systems with frontend applications and third-party platforms.
- Ensure system scalability, reliability, security, and compliance with banking standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks and technical issues.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and development best practices.
- Support the delivery of high-quality software through agile methodologies.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in backend software development.
- Proven experience developing applications using Node.js and Java.
- Strong background in Data Engineering, including ETL development and database optimization.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable backend architectures.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience within the fintech, banking, or payments industry.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of microservices and event-driven architecture.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Node.js and Java.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and other SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Expertise in developing RESTful APIs and GraphQL services.
- Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps principles, and automated deployments.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Knowledge of application security and performance optimization best practices.
