About the position
We’re looking for an experienced Back-End Developer who can take ownership of complex cloud-based applications and help build the technology powering the next generation of intelligent energy solutions.
The product ecosystem includes:
- Connecting smart wallboxes and enabling app-based customer support
- V2H (Vehicle-to-Home) bidirectional charging
- V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) and PowerPool use cases
- Integration with energy partners
- Backend charging plans for direct vehicle control
- Open APIs connecting vehicles with wider energy ecosystems
In short: software, cloud, energy and mobility all working together.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop and operate production-ready business applications in a 24/7 environment
- Build scalable, reliable back-end solutions using Node.js and AWS
- Work closely with customers, internal teams and external technology partners
- Monitor and operate applications using AWS CloudWatch
- Apply cloud-security patterns and best practices to solutions and deployments
- Translate business and technical requirements into robust system solutions
- Identify risks and impediments early and proactively resolve or escalate them
- Maintain high standards for code quality and automated testing
- Create clear technical and system documentation in line with relevant standards
- Share knowledge across teams
- Mentor and coach less experienced developers
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies, planning and continuous improvement
- Take ownership of additional responsibilities within the Agile Working Model
RequirementsEssential Skills
- 10+ years' production experience with Node.js, particularly in serverless environments
- 5+ years' experience with automated testing, including unit and end-to-end testing
- 5+ years' hands-on AWS serverless experience
- Strong experience with:
- AWS Lambda
- API Gateway
- DynamoDB
- SQS / SNS
- Kinesis
- S3
- CloudWatch
- Experience leading IT teams
- Strong knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases
- Infrastructure as Code experience, ideally CloudFormation
- Experience with Terraform
- Strong CI/CD experience, preferably GitHub Actions
- Experience with Kubernetes and Serverless architectures
- Understanding of virtual networks and connectivity to on-premise environments
- Experience designing, configuring and operating CI/CD pipelines
- Automated deployment and configuration of applications and infrastructure
- Monitoring, logging and log analytics
- Strong understanding of software design and architecture patterns
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
- Ability to work autonomously while knowing when to involve senior stakeholders

Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant IT Degree or equivalent practical experience
