About the position

Azure Infrastructure Lead



Lead. Migrate. Optimise. Own the Platform.

We’re looking for a hands-on Azure Infrastructure Lead to take ownership of enterprise infrastructure, databases, backup, disaster recovery and cloud migration. This is a senior operational and technical leadership role for someone who can keep critical platforms stable today while driving the move to Azure [URL Removed] manage Windows and Linux servers, SQL Server environments, virtualisation, storage, networking and security, while leading the assessment, planning and migration of workloads to Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate is comfortable with both day-to-day operations and strategic cloud delivery.


RequirementsWhat You’ll Do

  • Manage and support Windows Server, Linux, virtualisation and core infrastructure platforms
  • Administer Microsoft SQL Server environments, including performance, high availability, backup and recovery
  • Own enterprise backup, recovery and disaster recovery solutions, including testing and RTO/RPO compliance
  • Lead Azure migration projects — from assessment and dependency mapping through cutover and optimisation
  • Configure and manage Azure networking, security, identity (Entra ID), governance, monitoring and backup services
  • Drive patch management, vulnerability remediation and security hardening
  • Handle infrastructure and database incidents, root cause analysis and continuous improvement
  • Maintain architecture documentation, CMDB records and vendor relationships

What You Bring
  • Matric plus a Degree or Diploma in IT, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years in infrastructure operations, systems engineering or infrastructure management.
  • Strong Microsoft SQL Server administration experience.
  • Proven experience with enterprise backup, recovery and disaster recovery.
  • Hands-on track record in Azure cloud migration and hybrid environments.
  • Solid knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, VMware/Hyper-V, networking and firewalls.
  • Experience with Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, Azure Backup and Entra ID.
  • PowerShell scripting and infrastructure automation skills.
  • Understanding of ITIL, change management and operational governance.

  • Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
  • Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP-300)
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
  • ITIL Foundation
  • Microsoft SQL Server certifications

  • Monthly Infrastructure, Database and Backup Health Reports.
  • Azure Migration Assessment, Roadmap and Cutover Plans.
  • Updated architecture and disaster recovery documentation.
  • Disaster Recovery test reports and continuous improvement recommendations.
