Automation Technician

About the position

If you enjoy designing, programming, repairing and maintaining automated machinery, PLC and computer systems, then this role is for you.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure smooth and efficient operation of machines and automation systems
• Install and maintain automated systems and machinery
• Perform diagnostics, looking for inefficiencies or malfunctions
• Troubleshooting and resolving any issues that may come up
• Keep systems up to date and in good operational condition
• Develop and implement efficient repair strategies
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and manuals
• Ensure all machinery and equipment are compliant with safety regulations

Requirements:

• Electrical or Mechanical qualification
• Proven experience as an Automation Technician or similar role
• Knowedge of PLCs (Siemens, Delta and Allen Bradley PLC systems and fault finding)
• Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Technical training in automation technology, engineering or related field
• Minimum 3 years experience working with industrial machinery and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics and blueprints
• Hands-on exprience
• Database management
• Knowledge of mathematics
• Clear communication, both orally and in writing
