Automation Technician – Engineering industry – Netherlands

About the position

Hire Resolve’s client in the Engineering industry is urgently seeking the expertise of a Automation Technician in the Netherlands.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on process installations.
• Analyse faults in control and visualization systems and implement improvements.
• Support the breakdown service with complex technical issues.
• Write and adapt software for PLC/SCADA systems.
• Conduct on-site software commissioning (FAT/SAT).
• Draft and maintain functional and technical documentation.
• Guide and support suppliers in the field of process automation.
• Actively participate in multidisciplinary project teams.

Requirements:

• Possess an HBO work and thinking level, ideally in Industrial Automation.
• Hold a Millwright Trade Test or an Instrumentation Technician Trade Test.
• Have a Matric / NQF 4 qualification.
• Possess a South African Driver's License.
• Be experienced with PLC and SCADA systems (e.g., Siemens, ABB, iFix) and familiar with software like SQL and VMware.
• Understand industrial communication protocols.
• Have insight into production processes.
• Demonstrate an independent work ethic combined with strong cooperation and communication skills.
• Possess analytical skills and a proactive attitude.
• Be familiar with quality and safety systems.
• Have excellent command of both Dutch and English, with German being a bonus.
