About the position

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical faults.
• Perform preventative maintenance.
• Test batteries, alternators, starter motors and electrical circuits.
• Repair and replace wiring and electrical components.
• Conduct diagnostic testing.
• Install electrical accessories and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed.
• Ensure all work complies with company safety and quality standards.
• Assist with breakdowns and emergency repairs when required.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Auto Electrical Trade Test Certificate / Red Seal.
• Minimum 5+ years' relevant post-trade experience.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Experience in vehicle electrical fault-finding and diagnostics.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment.
• Good knowledge of 12V and 24V electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.

Advantageous

• Commercial vehicle/truck experience.
• Auto electrical accessory installations.
• Mechanical or hydraulic knowledge.
