About the position
We are seeking a dedicated and ambitious Audit Supervisor to join our clients team. This role is designed for an individual with a long-term vision to grow within their organization, with the potential to advance to Audit Manager and ultimately a partner. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with SAICA, a strong background in audit planning and coordination, and a passion for mentorship and development of interns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate annual audits, ensuring efficient execution and adherence to timelines.
- Manage and support audit staff, conducting work reviews and providing necessary guidance.
- Oversee the SAICA 2025 learnership program, including reviewing and rating intern performance.
- Prepare monthly and bi-annual reports on the development of SAICA interns, offering constructive feedback and guidance.
- Foster a supportive environment for interns, helping them navigate their articles and professional growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with team members, promoting a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Stay updated on SAICA standards and ensure compliance throughout the audit processes.
- Caseware, Pastel, SAGE Online, strong excel required.
- Vlookup advantageous
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CA(SA)) preferred.
- Significant exposure to SAICA, with experience in the SAICA 2025 learnership platform.
- Completion of board exams or a strong intention to do so in the near future is highly advantageous.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in audit, with demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team.
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple audits simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a talent for mentorship and developing junior staff.
- Determination and a long-term vision for career advancement within the audit profession.
