About the position
My client a Audit Firm in Cape Town has an exciting new vacancy for a Audit Senior.
Duties:
Executing the planning phase of the audit which involves:
- Pre-engagement planning activities
- Risk assessment procedures
- Audit planning and strategy
- Preparing budgets
- Organizing and chairing planning meetings
Conducting fieldwork:
- Testing of client controls and ensuring that client financial functions fall in line with the relevant accounting standards.
- Performing analytical procedures and trend analyses
- Performing detail testing and gathering audit evidence in order to provide an audit opinion.
- Supervising junior audit trainees
- VAT Reconciliations
Audit Finalization:
- Drafting of annual financial statements
- Drafting of management letters
- Performing audit finalization procedures
- Preparing of audit signing packs
Accounting:
- Processing management accounts
- Preparing monthly management accounts
- Preparing VAT Reconciliations
- Preparing and filing of VAT returns
- Preparing monthly IT14SDs
- Preparing monthly payroll using Pastel Payroll
- Preparing and Filing monthly EMP201s
- Preparing and filing annual IRP5s
- Drafting Annual Financial Statements using Caseware
- Preparing monthly Reconciliation - Bank, Debtors, Creditors
- Preparing and updating Fixed Asset Registers
- Supervising junior SAIPA trainees and reviewing
Requirements:
Either CA (SA) or completed Articles and busy with Honours CTA
Must have worked at an Audit and Accounting firm
Must have managed junior audit staff
Must be South African citizen
Must have drivers licence and own car
Must have clear credit and criminal record
Knowledge of Caseware and MS Office
