About the position
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and manage audit engagements in compliance with IRBA standards, statutory requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify key audit areas and develop comprehensive audit plans.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Perform detailed financial analysis and assess the accuracy of financial statements, disclosures, and other financial reports.
- Lead audit teams, providing guidance and direction throughout the audit process to ensure efficient and effective execution.
- Communicate audit findings, recommendations, and corrective actions to management, audit committees, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
- Stay abreast of changes in auditing standards, regulations, and industry trends issued by IRBA and other regulatory bodies.
- Mentor and coach junior staff members to enhance their professional development and audit capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Qualified CA(SA)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Registered Auditor accreditation with the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA) is essential.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in auditing, with a focus on risk assessment and compliance.
- Thorough understanding of IRBA standards, statutory requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify areas of risk.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all stakeholders.
- Proven track record of leading audit engagements and delivering high-quality results within established timelines.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in all audit activities.
- Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
