About the position

Introduction

Internal Advert - Associate: Medical Advisory Services

The position of Associate: Medical Advisory Services is vacant. The Associate: Medical Advisory Services will report directly to the Clinical Health Policy Manager: Medical Advisory Services and forms part of the Healthcare Management Division. The position is based at GEMS Head Office in Pretoria.

The total remuneration package will be R 576 206 per annum, based on the Scheme's Remuneration Policy.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Associate: Medical Advisory Services will be required to support the Clinical Health Policy Manager: Medical Advisory through the implementation of the following Key Performance Areas (KPAs):

  • Perform the administrative function in the Medical Advisory business unit
  • Provide Administrative Support, promote and implement goals of Medical Advisory in line with GEMS Strategic goals
  • Administration and ensuring that engagements and meetings are planned and run efficiently;
  • Support in tracking and updating the Medical Advisory initiatives and projects progress;
  • Support the Medical Advisor in the tracking of ex gratia ratifications
  • Administer procurement of business unit items e.g. stationery etc.;
  • Assist with diary management for Medical Advisor
  • Coordinate Medical Advisor and Expert Panel members travel quotations in line with the Scheme Travel
  • Coordinate & facilitate travels, timeous meeting packs & meeting for Expert Panel
  • Support in ensuring that the Action List of the Clinical Governance and Administration Committee is implemented
  • Co-ordinate and facilitate the preparation of the Ex Gratia- Sub-Committee packs and delivery thereof
  • Support in ensuring that the Action List of the Ex gratia Sub-Committee is implemented
  • Support in the management and monitoring SPN's to Implement and give results within set targets
  • Assist the Medical Advisor in management and monitoring the clinical cost targets
  • Support in management of divisional budget in line with budget allocation
  • Assist the review and analysis of performance of the Maternity Programme
  • Support the Medical Advisor in the compilation and submission of reports to the Clinical Governance and Administration Committee
  • Support in compilation of letters and newsletters
  • Support in compilation and circulation of memos
  • Assist with project monitoring in conjunction with internal Project Management unit of the Scheme
  • Ensure that all relevant projects are carried out and finalised
  • Support the Healthcare Management Forums
  • Provide administrative support to the Healthcare Management Division at SPN and Stakeholder Engagements

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualification Requirements:
  • Healthcare related qualification (degree or diploma)
  • Experience in healthcare funding environment will be an advantage (but not required)
  • Project Management will be an added advantage
  • Problem solving skills
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
