About the position
Our client, a leading manufacturing powerhouse in Johannesburg South, has a permanent role available for an Assistant Warehouse Manager.
This role will be reporting to the Warehouse Manager.
Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Matric with BCom Logistics/Supply Chain/Diploma or related qualification
- SAP Experience beneficial
- Computer literacy is essential. (MS Office)
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as an Assistant Warehouse Manager/Warehouse Supervisor within a large FMCG, Manufacturing, or Plastic industry
- Attention to detail, Motivated, Self -Discipline and Customer Focused
- Team player, Planning and Organizational Skills, Energy, Reliability, Flexibility
- Experience with managing a team of over 100+ employees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day management of employees, training, and all related matters.
- Management of staff performance and initiate performance advancement initiatives by setting goals and KPI's
- Managing theoretical stock against actual stock.
- Ensure stock is stacked and packed neatly in demarcated areas.
- Ensuring that the warehouse department facilitates the timeous and correct distribution of products.
- Identifying and solving stock and product queries and discrepancies.
- Conduct monthly stock take and report to the Manager.
- Ensuring the correct loading and offloading of products.
- Implement and ensure control in carefully storing all stock so as to minimize stock damage.
- Ensuring a safe working environment by adhering to safety procedures.
- Ensure all unsafe working conditions are adhered to and fixed immediately.
- Reporting all ineffective work procedures and departmental issues and concerns to manager.
- Maintaining high standard of personal behavior as per handbook.
- Monitor access into warehouse area.
- Correct usage of safety equipment (i.e. ear plugs, protective clothing, and restricted areas).
- Ensuring good housekeeping and security within the warehouse.
