Assistant Stores Controller at Lion Match

About the position

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The primary purpose of this position is to be ensure that all spares and general items are accurately controlled, safely stores, receipts and issues properly recorded and that prescribed stock levels are always maintained. The role is to support the stores controller in all duties and provide back-up in the absence of the stores controller.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Governance and Controls

• Ensure absolute control over engineering spares and general stores items
• Ensuring proper controls and governance are always in place for

Goods receiving, Warehousing, Spares Issuing, Spares replenishment, stock takes and cycle counts and Management of Ro tables

• Ensuring that stock balances are verified with the accounting system on a regular basis.
• always Ensuring proper security of all stocks and equipment.
• Establish lead times with suppliers as required & establish correct min/max levels of stock.

Engineering Spares - Imports

• Planning & Importing of Engineering Spares
• Ensuring that all imported parts needed is ordered & delivered as required.
• Establish lead times with suppliers as required & establish correct min/max levels of stock.

Manage Stores Stock Levels

• Planning the placement of orders and delivery in accordance with production / maintenance requirements and minimum / maximum stock levels.
• Liaising with suppliers regarding orders, delivery dates and compliance to order specifications whilst maintaining good relationships with suppliers.

Leadership

• Provide leadership to the engineering stores teams working on rotational shift basis: stock controllers, clerks and issuers
• Stand-in in the absence of the Stores Controller and provide full leadership oversight of the entire engineering stores
• Provide regular reports to the senior stake holders - site GM, Engineering manager, Finance manager

Safety and Health

• Ensure compliance to health, safety and legal requirements by
• Ensuring that the legislated explosive requirements are always conformed to.
• Identifying unsafe acts and conditions whilst rectifying same.
• Ensuring compliance to stacking requirements and fire regulations.
• always Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping.

Suppliers

• Monitor Suppliers deliveries and performance
• Ensure that the formal supplier evaluation system is followed in conjunction with the QA department, to assist in developing, disciplining and promoting competent and competitive suppliers to the Group.

ISO Compliance

• Comply with ISO requirements
• Ensuring that all stores stock information is recorded as required.
• Ensuring that raw material samples are sent to the laboratory for analysis.
• Reviewing of subordinates' work instructions whilst ensuring proper execution of work instructionsregularly.
• Complying to FIFO stock rotation where possible.
• Ensuring that rejected or faulty materials and equipment are returned to supplier as required.

Fleet

• Effective Fleet Management
• Controlling Company Fleet & Maintenance of Company vehicles.
• Routing & Scheduling of Drivers.
