About the position
We are seeking a motivated and passionate Assistant Store Manager to join our client, a big pharmaceutical retailer's team in various stores across the Northern Suburbs, Boland and Garden Route.
The Assistant Store Manager will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager with the complete operation of the store, managing employees and being responsible for store targets. The successful candidate will also maintain the store inventory by checking merchandise to determine inventory levels - anticipating customer demand as well as preparing reports by collecting, analysing and summarizing information.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Stock Control
- Manage and ensure that all orders are done daily, on time and maintain correct stock levels.
- Managing stock flow to floor.
- Prepare, coordinate, and manage Stock takes on a Bi-annual basis in conjunction with the Store Admin Manager - and Store Manager.
- Management of shrinkage.
Customer Service
- Regulate and oversee customer compliments and complaints.
- Address and follow up on customer requests and complaints.
- Provide customers with feedback regarding queries and complaints.
Sales Floor
- Ensure that all merchandisers adhere to company merchandising standards.
- Ensure that promotional stock and displays are planned, implemented, and maintained.
- Adhere to all labelling, pricing and layout standards and ensure that merchandisers adhere to these standards.
- Ensure that all store targets are achieved.
Online Store Administration
- Oversee the maintenance of accurate records of all Click and Collect orders for customers.
- Ensure that customer orders are managed and are ready for collection by customers timeously.
- Verify that online store orders are facilitated in line with the company operating procedures.
- Maintain operational standards and ensure that the identified action plans to improve these standards within the department are implemented after approval.
- Ensure that all queries regarding Click and Collect and customer related queries are resolved timeously.
- Oversee and ensure that all new online operations as communicated through by either Store or Head Office management are implemented.
- Relieve the Online Store Administrator when necessary.
Human Resource Management
- Manage day-to-day Human Resource administration including but not limited to leave, hours of work and scheduling.
- Assist the Store Manager with corrective action.
- Ensure that employees receive planned training.
- Manage the performance management process and ensure that personal developments plans are adhered to.
General
- Housekeeping must be in accordance with company standards. Ensure that the store is always clean and tidy.
- Adhere to company Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Adhere to company Health and Safety Regulations.
- Adhere to the company uniform and personal appearance policy.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 essential
- Relevant retail FMCG qualification beneficial
- 5 years + experience in retail/FMCG in all departments including: receiving, administration, cash office, sales floor management
- 3 years + experience as a supervisor/manager
- Experience with SAP, Unisolv or SuccessFactors is advantageous
- Problem solving and leadership skills
- Driver's license and own transport
- Willingness to work retail hours
