About the position
QUALITY MANAGER
The primary responsibility of a Quality Assurance Manager is to ensure consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing good manufacturing practice systems, validating processes & providing accurate documentation.
The incumbent is expected to work independently in anticipation of the executive's role requirements to achieve the relevant divisional objectives.
Key Performance Areas/Accountabilities/High level functions
- Develop, set and achieve relevant quality objectives in support of the business strategy including all contracted business
- Process owner for all quality processes and custodian of all required quality standards
- Prepare, agree, own and execute the budget for the quality unction taking into consideration any surrounding requirements
- Internal and External client Audits
- Sub-Contracted supplier Quality Audits and Quality control managenent
- Regularly brief the quality team on meeting customer requirements and expectations
- Acting as the Management Representative as required by the Qualification bodies eg SACAA
- Approval authority for the quality specifications for each bid and contract
- Participation in Contract review meeting, ie current and potential customers
- Practical experience in Quality Auditing and Quality Certification.
- Ensure strong communication between teams under leadership to facilitate exchange of information and in order to implement change and improvements
- Provide leadership, co-ordination and coaching to the team, ensuring they are trained, enabling them to achieve the operational metrics within their areas of responsibility and succeed in their roles.
- Contribute to the optimisation of Manufacturing processes through actively participating in improvement projects and by being a team player within the organisation
- Coordinate projects within the parameter of Contract to ensure that project is delivered on time, in scope with quality deliverables.
- Apply innovative thinking in creating business solutions whilst maintaining operational effectiveness
- Set priorities appropriately to ensure that work outputs are delivered timeously and meet quality standards
Qualification and Experience
- Minimum of Quality Management Qualification to the NQF level 6 or Technical Diploma.
- At least 8 years' experience in the field of Quality Management, Quality Control and Assurance
- Good understanding of quality principles, systems, methods, tools and standards
- Manufacturing Environment

- Experience in Project Management
