About the position
A well-established national services company is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Finance Manager to support the Finance Manager in overseeing daily financial operations, ensuring compliance, and driving financial efficiency across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Monitor cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and internal policies
- Assist with audits and statutory reporting processes
- Supervise finance staff and provide support and guidance where required
- Oversee the Fleet and Stores departments and support the Finance Supervisor
- Analyse financial data and compile management reports
- Support payroll processing and maintain strong financial controls
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reduce operational costs
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a finance or accounting environment
- Previous supervisory experience advantageous
- Experience within a multi-branch or operational environment beneficial
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- High level of integrity and attention to detail
