Assistant Finance Manager

About the position

Description/Synopsis:

Seeking an experienced accounting professional, to join the South African finance team of a leading international organisation in the fast- paced travel and tourism industry. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role will provide hands-on support across financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, treasury, taxation and financial controls. This is a varied role suited to a finance professional who is comfortable working with detailed financial information, meeting deadlines and engaging with stakeholders across the business. The successful candidate will also support operational and commercial teams with financial analysis and reporting.



Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related field
  
  
• Completed SAIPA or SAICA Articles is advantageous
  
  
• Professional qualification or studies towards CIMA, ACCA, SAIPA or similar would be advantageous
  
  
• 5 years’ experience in a finance or accounting environment
  
  
• Experience in a multinational environment would be advantageous, but is not essential
  
  
• Experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting and general accounting
  
  
• Knowledge and understanding of IFRS 16
  
  
• Strong understanding of South African financial and tax requirements
  
  
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  
  
• SAP experience advantageous
  
  
• Experience within travel, tourism, hospitality, or service environment would be advantageous
