Assistant Engineer's Representative

About the position

Well-respected engineering consultancy seeks a Assistant Engineer's Representative (PrTech/PrTechni) for a 3-year contract to be based in East London (Eastern Cape).

LIC NQF5 experience is non-negotiable and the position is to start immediately.

Minimum Requirements:

• Professional ECSA registration as a PrTech/PrTechni
• A Civil Engineering qualification from a recognised tertiary institution
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working on national roads’ projects
• Labour Intensive Construction NQF 5 (non-negotiable)
• Proficient in preparing programmes including monitoring, updating and tracking progress
• Proven experience in the supervision, monitoring and execution of labour-based road works
• Must be willing and able to work full-time on site in the Eastern Cape
• Ability to be deployed full-time for the duration of the contract

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Engineer in administering and supervising road maintenance and construction contracts
• Ensure compliance with contract documentation, specifications and quality standards
• Monitor contractor performance, labour-based methods and site progress
• Prepare site reports, measurements and documentation as required
• Liaise with contractors, stakeholders and the Engineer on site-related matters
