Position: Assistant Engineer's Representative (LIC - Bridge Works)
Location: (Site based) Nqushwa Local Municipality, Eastern Cape

Project Details:

Minimum Requirements:
- Education: BTech or ND or Beng Tech (Civil) from a recognized South African institution
- Professional Registration: Pr Tech Eng or Pr Techi Eng registration with ECSA
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of post-graduate site experience.
- Training: Labour-Intensive Construction unit standard at NQF Level 5 (SAQA-accredited).
- Experience: Successfully executed at least ONE (1) bridge construction projects in a lead/site representative capacity.
- Availability: Full-time site presence for the contract duration
Job Description:
- Support the Engineer's Representative with LIC bridge supervision and contract administration tasks.
- Monitor workmanship, quality and quantities; maintain daily site diaries and measurement records.
- Assist with reviewing drawings, method statements and HSE documentation.
- Facilitate stakeholder liaison consistent with LIC methods.

Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day supervision, quality checks and quantity verification.
- Assist with progress reporting and certification inputs.
- Coordinate with inspectors, survey and materials testing teams.
- Snagging and close-out support.
Annual Guaranteed Package (AGP):
- Salary: Market-related salary guaranteed, discussed with shortlisted candidates.
- Bonus: Annual discretionary bonus paid in December, based on employee and company performance.
- Vehicle Use: Compensation for personal vehicle use at Department of Transport prescribed rates, updated monthly.

We are recruiting for a 12-month Labour-Intensive Construction (LIC) bridge project for the Nqushwa Local Municipality, approximately 80 km from East London. Accommodation will be provided and approved travel expenses will be paid.
