Assistant Accountant
Area: North End, Port Elizabeth
Salary: R25 000 p/m
About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Accountant to support their finance department. The role covers daily financial tasks, accurate record keeping, reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial policies.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage banking: daily bank position, payments (local & foreign), receipts, and financing of assets.
• Handle cashbook & petty cash: processing, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Process creditors' invoices, debtors' receipts, reconciliations, and transactions up to trial balance.
• Assist with budgets, reporting, audits, and compliance requirements.
• Support government incentive applications, insurance claims, and general finance admin.

Requirements

• Relevant finance/accounting qualification.
• 5+ years' experience in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting systems (Syspro preferred).
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Excellent attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
