About the position

Our client  based in South Africa, a specialist in  Chemical, products for food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic & industrial applications.

Role : Assistant Accountant 
Location: Prospecton

Start Date: Immediate
Software Proficiency:  Pastel Partner and Sage

Qualifications:

• Matric
• B.Com in Financial Accounting.
• Experience in a similar working environment, an advantage
• Clear criminal record

 
Role & Responsibilities

• Capturing cash book and credit card statements on SAGE of all bank accounts and reporting balances to management every morning;
• Ensuring all sales invoicing has been vetted and checked before updating each morning;
• Debtor management i.e follow up with debtors’ clerk on outstanding payments and any queries;
• Inputting stock movements on IBT and packing on Sage system

 
Month End Process

• Vat reconciliation and submit to FM for processing;
• Vetting all deliveries have been invoiced from delivery books for each warehouse;
• Bank reconciliation on Pastel partner month end;
• Petty cash capturing and reconciliation;
• Tracking of admin sick, annual leave and family responsibility leave days;
• Vetting customer month end statements to be sent out;
• Vetting supplier recons balances to system;
• Inventory Variance reporting (Mid and Month End)
• Ensuring all general ledger accounts have been reconciled including intercompany for FM to finalise month end closure.
• Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time by management, taking into consideration month end duties take priority
