About the position
Our client, a leading speciality chemical Manufacturing company based in Pinetown, is looking to fill the position of Assistant Accountant.
Purpose of the Role:
The Assistant Accountant will provide assistance to the finance manager on all aspects in the finance department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial accounts and finance related topics.
- Maintain financial records.
- Prepare financial reports.
- Assist with month-end and year-end processes.
- Assist in compiling annual budgets and forecasts.
- Perform timely reconciliations to maintain accurate financial accounts and records.
- Submit reports to management.
- Analyse sales and margin reports and flagging potential problems.
- Support the business with detailed analysis.
- Manage costs and providing cost analysis.
- Manage the company's assets.
- Manage the company fleet.
- Manage and analyse stock.
Stock Take:
- Provide financial and processing assistance to the branches during the stock count process.
General :
- Undertake such additional duties which may from time to time be assigned to the employee.
- Ensure that a correct and proper image of the company is maintained at all times.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 Senior Certificate
- Relevant BCom Degree
- Must have 3 - 5 years' experience in a similar position
- Sound knowledge and experience of statutory governmental requirements
- Sound knowledge in Tax
- Advanced in MS Excel
