About the position
Our Client is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their team.
This 6-month contract offers the perfect opportunity for a young Accountant to grow their skills while working closely with an experienced Head of Finance and Senior Accountants.
You will play a key role in supporting the finance function with accurate monthly and annual reporting, financial controls, and operational support. This is a great opportunity to build your career within a strong and reputable Financial Services environment.
Requirements
- BCom Accounting or CIMA or SAIPA or CA(SA)
- 2+ years experience in an accounting role
- Experience in Financial Services
- Strong Excel capability and exposure to accounting systems
The Role:
You will support the broader finance and procurement function with responsibilities that include:
- Monthly bank processing and reconciliations, including credit cards
- Monthly client fee calculations, billing, and invoice management
- Cash flow monitoring, planning, and forecasting
- Preparing monthly journals and supporting schedules
- Account reconciliations and maintaining data accuracy
- Supporting procurement and banking operations in line with control frameworks
- Managing debtors and creditors
- Monthly intercompany reconciliations and settlement
- Calculating monthly Capital Adequacy Requirements
- Assisting with tax and regulatory reporting
- Supporting internal and external audit requirements
