Assembly Technician

About the position

Our client seeks a passionate and responsible individual to fulfil an Assembly Technician role, in our Assembly and RMA department. The Assembly Technician will be responsible for the physical assembly, configuration and testing of Cathexis video management servers. You will also play a critical part in our logistics ecosystem by managing inventory and overseeing the Return Merchandise Authorization process. The role looks for an individual that is passionate about technology that is consistently evolving. It requires an attitude of learning and improving one's own knowledge base and experience.

The job level is between Junior to Lower Intermediate roles

Areas of responsibility

• Assemble Cathexis servers following stringent quality controls and standards
• Monitor and manage stock levels
• Fault finding and repairing RMA hardware
• The individual needs to be self-motivated, that can work independently on their own achieving their goals, and within a team

Knowledge Component:
Technical and professional knowledge

• Microsoft suite (Intermediate)
• 1 - 2 years' work experience in technology field in a support or assembly role (essential)
• Strong IT/Security technology support background (essential)
• Knowledge of assembly / accounting environments and processes (essential)
• Diagnostics and problem solving hardware skillset (essential)
• Experience working with assembly ticketing systems and managing escalations (essential)

Computer Knowledge:
MS Outlook (Intermediate)
MS Excel (Intermediate)
MS Word (Intermediate)
MS PowerPoint (Intermediate)
Understanding assembly / accounting ticketing system process (advantageous)

Professional Expertise:
Matric Certificate (essential)
A+ certification (advantageous)
Windows OS & Linux Ubuntu OS experience (advantageous)

• Can pick up and carry boxes upto 40kg
• Valid driver's license
