About the position

Purpose of the role:
A hands-on, qualified artisan with strong project and people management experience, responsible for leading maintenance activities, supervising teams, and ensuring plant reliability and operational efficiency. The incumbent will also deal with quotes and have to know the processes and service providers.

Previous experience in the FMCG sector (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods)-Packaging sector would be ideal.

Requirements:

• Qualified trade artisan (Millwright specifically excluded)
• Red Seal Trade-Tested qualification (essential)
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in FMCG manufacturing or plant environments
• Proven supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team
• Strong project experience - planning, coordinating and executing maintenance and improvement projects
• Proven people management track record, including supervision of artisans and assistants
• Experience allocating work, monitoring performance, and holding teams accountable
• Able to work hands-on where required, while also managing and leading the team
• Strong problem-solving ability and practical decision-making
• Good safety, compliance and housekeeping discipline
• Clear communicator, able to work across maintenance, production and management

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage maintenance staff on a daily basis
• Plan and coordinate preventative and breakdown maintenance
• Manage maintenance-related projects and shutdowns
• Ensure equipment uptime and reliability
• Enforce safety standards and maintenance procedures
• Support continuous improvement initiatives
• Control maintenance costs and resources
