Our client in the logistics industry is urgently looking to employ an experienced Area Vehicle Manager at their organization

Location: Goodwood, Cape Town

Requirements:

• Matric
• Degree/Diploma in Logistics Management or similar qualification
• Must have  proven experience in road freight and logistics management with 3-5 years experience in a supervisory or coordination role.
• Must have knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize transportation routes to maximise efficiency and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with dispatch teams to ensure timely and accurate execution of delivery schedules.
• Monitor and adjust route plans based on real-time factors such as traffic, weather and road closures.
• Coordinate the allocation of vehicles, drivers and equipment to meet operational demands.
• Optimise fleet utilisation to minimise downtime and maximise productivity.
• Ensure compliance with maintenance schedules and oversee repairs when necessary.
• Act as the central point of contact for communication between the branch, drivers and customer.
• Collaborate with the Branch Manager and other Area Vehicle Managers to share best practices and address operational challenges.
• Provide timely updates to clients and internal teams on delivery status and any potential disruptions.
• Address staff performance issues promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Manage vehicle checklists and complete accurate diesel consumption and service reports.
• Constant monitoring of all emails.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, company policies and safety standards.
