About the position

A well-established company based in the East Rand is seeking an experienced and driven External Sales Representative to promote, support and provide technical expertise within the mining industry.
Minimum Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Sales and Marketing.
  • Strata Control Certificate and/or Training Officer Certificate.
  • Proven experience within the mining industry.
  • Valid proof of fitness to work underground (Red Ticket).
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the region.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Sales Management
  • Drive sales growth, profitability and market penetration within the assigned area.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to maximize business opportunities.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and targeted accounts.
  • Perform monthly forecasting and sales reporting using internal sales tools.
  • Ensure effective territory and time management.
  • Monitor competitor activity and provide regular market feedback.
  • Coordinate tender submissions and support commercialization initiatives.
  • Ensure debtors are managed in accordance with agreed payment terms.

Technical & Customer Support
  • Provide technical support and product application expertise to customers.
  • Deliver product application and safety training to customers, Demonstrators and Service Technicians.
  • Conduct underground investigations, pull tests and product trials where required.
  • Ensure customer complaints are documented and actioned within required timelines.
  • Promote and introduce new products and innovative mining solutions to customers.

Team Leadership & Operational Management
  • Manage Demonstrators and Service Technicians within the assigned area.
  • Monitor work quality, productivity and clocking records of technical staff.
  • Ensure satellite workshop stock and repairs are effectively managed.
  • Foster strong communication, teamwork and staff motivation.
  • Ensure all contractor submissions, invoices and job cards are completed accurately and timeously.

SH&E Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all Safety, Health, Environmental and Security (SH&E) policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate visible safety leadership and safe working practices.
  • Participate in SH&E initiatives and investigations.
  • Support customer SH&E programs and product stewardship initiatives.
  • Maintain a safe working environment at all times.
