About the position
A well-known and established water treatment chemical company requires the above to manage senior key accounts within the boiler, cooling water, and effluent markets within the industrial, mining, food and related markets, providing them with solutions and water treatment chemicals.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- A tertiary qualification in chemical engineering or chemistry or a related qualification is preferred but not essential.
- Previous experience having sold or serviced customers, providing them with water treatment chemicals into the boiler, cooling towers, potable and effluent, etc markets is essential for the role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage senior customer relationships and operate in a consultative technical sales environment.
- Commercially driven with strong business development capability.
- Strong technical problem-solving and process optimisation skills.
- Willing to travel across Gauteng and occasionally support international projects where required.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing senior Key Accounts within the boiler, cooling water and effluent, potable markets, providing them with solutions and water treatment chemicals within the food and beverage, industrial, steel, mining etc markets.
- Preparing optimisation plans to improve processes on site as well as conducting performance testing and reporting.
- Training operators on processes and applications and managing them on customer sites.
- Managing and developing accounts and driving projects within the different manufacturing industries.
- Managing and assisting clients with different product solutions and services while simultaneously seeking out various applications and water solutions.
- Monitoring market developments and various projects in order to identify and assess potential new customers and opportunities.
- Overseeing technical service and chemical trials at customer sites to maintain excellent customer relationships.
- Developing and executing strategic account plans for key industrial customers to ensure long-term growth and retention.
- Identifying opportunities to expand existing customer portfolios through cross-selling of chemical programmes, plant upgrades, equipment and value-added services.
- Conducting regular business reviews with customers to assess performance, identify improvement initiatives and ensure alignment with customer objectives.
- Managing project timelines, budgets and customer expectations.
- Presenting account performance, growth opportunities and project status to management.
