Application Support Specialist - STARLIMS (LIMS)
The Application Support Specialist (Level 2) provides intermediate-level support for STARLIMS, ensuring stability, performance, and compliance of the application. The role focuses on issue resolution, change implementation, audit readiness, and technical maintenance in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Application Support & Troubleshooting:
- Provide L2 technical support for STARLIMS, resolving escalated issues from L1 and users across business units.
- Perform root cause analysis and fault finding to minimize recurring incidents.
- Collaborate with L3 or vendor teams on complex or unresolved issues.
- Maintain system health through routine audits and proactive monitoring.
Implementation & Change Management:
- Plan, test, and implement approved configuration changes, system enhancements, and application patches.
- Manage patch deployments and version upgrades in coordination with release cycles.
- Maintain documentation for system changes and ensure proper version control.
Audit & Compliance:
- Prepare systems and documentation for internal and external audits.
- Address audit findings by implementing corrective actions and preventive measures.
- Ensure regular review and compliance of support procedures and system access controls.
System Maintenance & Optimization:
- Perform user administration and role-based access control (RBAC) within STARLIMS.
- Monitor application performance and recommend tuning improvements.
- Assist with configuration and deployment of new environments or modules.
Collaboration & Support Coverage:
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including development, infrastructure, and QA.
- Provide after-hours or weekend support as part of an on-call rotation, when required.
- Interface with STARLIMS vendors and third-party support for escalated technical issues.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven hands-on experience supporting STARLIMS in a Level 2 capacity.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and audit preparation skills.
- Working knowledge of installation, configuration, and change control processes.
- Familiarity with GxP, ISO standards, or other regulatory frameworks is an advantage.
- Effective communication and documentation skills.
