About the position

Our client is a leading international engineering and industrial automation group specialising in warehouse storage systems, robotics and supply chain automation. With operations across Europe, North America and South Africa, the business delivers innovative solutions to some of the world's largest manufacturing and logistics organisations.

They are looking to appoint an Application Support Engineer to join their global IT team, supporting one of the company's core quotation and product management applications.



This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical and technically minded support professional who enjoys troubleshooting software, maintaining business applications and working closely with international users.

 

You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and support of the company's quotation management application, ensuring data integrity, system availability and continuous improvement of the platform.



Key Responsibilities

  • Administer the global quotation management application and associated databases.

  • Manage user accounts, permissions and system access.

  • Maintain product, pricing and quotation data.

  • Investigate and resolve user queries, issues and system-related problems.

  • Perform application testing and validation following system updates.

  • Analyse enhancement requests and prepare requirements for third-party developers.

  • Support software quality assurance and testing processes.

  • Monitor system performance and maintain application documentation.

  • Work closely with international business users to prioritise support requests and improvements.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best practices.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.

  • 2–5 years' experience in application, systems or software support.

  • Experience supporting business-critical applications.

  • Good understanding of databases and data management.

  • Experience with software testing and troubleshooting.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills in English.

  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks in an international environment.

Advantageous

  • Experience with ERP, quotation or engineering systems.

  • SQL knowledge.

  • Experience working with software vendors or third-party developers.

  • Exposure to software quality assurance or testing.
