About the position
Our client is seeking an experienced API Developer to design and build secure, high-performing APIs that power enterprise data products and digital platforms. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain secure RESTful APIs and integration services.
- Build APIs exposing enterprise insights, analytical datasets, scores, and data products.
- Implement authentication, authorisation, rate limiting, and API security controls.
- Optimise API performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Develop integration solutions for internal and third-party platforms.
- Collaborate with architects, software engineers, and data engineering teams.
- Produce technical documentation and API specifications.
- Support API monitoring, testing, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years' software development experience.
- Strong experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency in C#, Java, Python, Node.js, or similar technologies.
- Experience with API gateways, authentication protocols, and cloud services.
- Strong understanding of integration architecture and secure development practices.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Advantageous
- Experience with Azure API Management or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
- Experience within enterprise integration environments.
- Cloud certifications.
