If so, we're looking for an Analytical Engineer who can bridge the gap between business and technology by delivering trusted, analytics-ready data that empowers smarter decision-making.
As an Analytical Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in transforming business requirements into structured, reliable, and analytics-ready datasets. You'll combine strong analytical thinking with technical expertise in data modelling, SQL, and enterprise data platforms to ensure data is accurate, governed, and fit for purpose.
You'll work across the full data lifecycle—from profiling and validating source data through to modelling and delivering trusted datasets that power business intelligence and advanced analytics.
Translate complex business requirements into scalable analytical data models.
Design and develop analytics-ready datasets using Data Vault 2.0 and Dimensional Modelling methodologies.
Perform comprehensive data profiling, quality assessments, and validation activities.
Develop advanced SQL queries for data transformation, cleansing, and analysis.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytical requirements.
Ensure consistency, integrity, and governance of enterprise data assets.
Work closely with engineering teams to optimise data pipelines and data structures.
Support reporting, dashboarding, and self-service analytics initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve data quality, performance, and modelling standards.
Document business rules, data definitions, and technical specifications.
RequirementsEssential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as an Analytical Engineer, Data Analyst, or similar analytical data role.
- Strong expertise in Data Modelling, including:
- Data Vault 2.0
- Dimensional Modelling (Star/Snowflake schemas)
- Advanced SQL development and data transformation skills.
- Experience profiling, validating, and analysing complex enterprise datasets.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience engaging with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
