About the position

Role Summary

We are seeking a qualified and experienced aircraft Electrical and Avionics Instructor /AME to join our team in the aviation industry. As an AME Electrical, Avionics Instructor, you will play a crucial role in training and developing future UAS technicians, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our aviation training programs in South Africa.

Key responsibilities



  • Develop and deliver classroom and practical training courses on UAS electrical systems, including theory and practical components.


  • Design instructional materials, presentations, and hands-on exercises to facilitate effective learning.


  • Conduct theoretical and practical assessments and evaluations to measure trainee progress and proficiency.


  • Provide mentorship and guidance to trainees, offering support in understanding complex electrical concepts and troubleshooting techniques.


  • Stay updated with advancements in UAS technology and integrate relevant updates into training programs.


  • Collaborate with other instructors and subject matter experts to ensure comprehensive and cohesive training delivery.


  • Maintain training equipment and resources to ensure they are in good working condition.


  • Uphold safety standards and regulations during training activities.

Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Avionics, or a related [URL Removed] qualification is advantageous
  • 5-10 years' proven experience as an Electrical Technician or Instructor, preferably within the aviation industry or a similar field.
  • Experience in ERP systems and logistics software
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, CAA part 145)
  • Expertise in aircraft electrical and avionics systems, components, and maintenance practices.
  • Strong instructional and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in developing curriculum and training materials is preferred.
  • Proficiency in assessment and evaluation techniques to gauge trainee learning outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a passion for teaching and mentorship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of UAV Systems, components and logistics challenges specific to the industry.
  • Strong aviation background
