About the position
Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join their Aviation team in Johannesburg. This is an exciting opportunity for a professionally registered engineer with a strong background in transportation infrastructure and airport civil engineering to lead multidisciplinary projects while contributing to the delivery of world-class aviation infrastructure across local and international markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the civil engineering discipline on airport infrastructure projects.
- Design and deliver airside civil infrastructure including runways, taxiways, aprons, drainage, earthworks, and pavements.
- Develop innovative engineering solutions and oversee project deliverables.
- Manage multidisciplinary projects from planning through to completion.
- Produce and review 2D and 3D engineering models using Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
- Collaborate within BIM environments and coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams.
- Support business development initiatives and maintain strong client relationships.
- Mentor team members and contribute to the continued growth of the aviation engineering capability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- A postgraduate qualification will be advantageous.
- Professional registration as PrEng or PrTech is essential.
- Minimum of 10 years' consulting engineering experience, including roads, pavements, drainage, and infrastructure projects.
- At least 4 years' experience in contract administration and project management.
- Proven proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
- Previous airport or aviation project experience will be advantageous.
- Experience working on international projects is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
