About the position
An established organisation is looking for an experienced Senior Data Analytics & AI Specialist to develop AI models, implement data analytics solutions and integrate analytics into internal audit processes, risk management and business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build and implement AI models and data analytics solutions to improve audit processes and risk analysis.
- Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, risks and business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards, reports and data models using business intelligence tools.
- Manage data preparation, ETL processes, data warehousing and SQL queries.
- Integrate analytics solutions into internal audit engagements and business processes.
- Identify risks, inefficiencies and opportunities to improve controls and operational performance.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric and a degree in Commerce, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Informatics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years' work experience, including at least 3 years in data or business analytics and 1 year in AI model development.
- Strong experience with data analytics tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, DAX, IDEA, R and/or Python.
- Experience in ETL, data preparation, data modelling, data visualisation and reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven project management skills and ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Strong understanding of risk management, internal controls and audit processes.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
- Reinsurance knowledge would be advantageous.
- Underwriting experience would be a significant advantage.
- Experience applying AI and analytics in an audit environment would be beneficial.
