AI Internship (six month contract) with innovative NPO
OceanHub Africa (OHA) is the continent’s leading enabler of ocean-impact entrepreneurship. Headquartered in Cape Town at the V&A Waterfront, we support, connect, and invest in African ventures and ecosystem actors working at the intersection of ocean health, climate resilience, and sustainable livelihoods.
 
Through our venture support programs, knowledge partnerships, and convening platforms such as the Ocean Innovation Africa Summit, we build bridges between innovation and inclusion, science and entrepreneurship, grassroots communities and global capital. We are committed to shaping a just, regenerative, and blue economy, from coastal villages to regional venture ecosystems.
 
We now seek an AI Intern on a six month contract, to help us explore and prototype the use of applied AI, using no-code/low-code tools and LLMs to Develop a prototype for 3 high-priority AI use cases, while laying the groundwork for broader adoption across functions.
 
You will Design and prototype 3 priority AI agents related to the following 3 areas:

• Entrepreneurship Support (e.g., pipeline triage, mentor/resource matching)
• Internal Knowledge & Operations (e.g., search assistant for Notion/Slack/Drive)
• Marketing & Communications (e.g., content repurposing, drafting, engagement support)

To be considered for the internship, you will need to be a final-year student or recent graduate in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related field, have hands-on experience with LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Claude, Cohere) and prompt engineering. In addition, you will be familiar with no-code/low-code tools (e.g., Make, Zapier, LangChain, Retool, Bubble) and proficient in data handling and API integrations.
 
You will be curious, autonomous, and motivated by the application of AI to real-world, impact-driven challenges.
