Agricultural Specialist: Commercial Banking & Structured Investments I (Pretoria Head Office)

Location: Centurion, Gauteng

Are you an agricultural expert with a knack for business case evaluations, financial risk assessments, and sustainable farming practices?

A nationally mandated development finance institution, supporting the commercial and emerging agricultural sector, is seeking an Agricultural Specialist: Commercial Banking & Structured Investments to join its team at head office in Pretoria.

In this dynamic role, you'll guide investment decisions by conducting technical, agronomical, and financial assessments on complex farming operations. You'll play a key part in structuring viable agricultural deals, supporting distressed accounts, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of clients.

What You'll Bring:

  • A 3-year qualification in Agriculture or related discipline
  • At least 5 years' experience in agricultural extension, co-operatives, agribusiness, or technical agri-support
  • Expertise in farm viability assessments, credit evaluations, property valuation, and collateral management
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to liaise with farmers, commodity associations, co-ops, and government stakeholders

Your Impact:

  • Guide the provincial team on the viability of agri-deals and ensure technical integrity of applications
  • Support distressed or high-risk accounts with farm visits, inspections, and advisory interventions
  • Represent the institution in agricultural forums and events to enhance presence and partnerships
