About the position
A well-established company in Johannesburg is seeking an Agricultural Commodity Trader. The ideal candidate is commercially minded, a problem solver, and passionate about agriculture. Must have an industry-relevant degree, reside in the greater Johannesburg region, and be proficient in Afrikaans and English.
Responsibilities and objectives
- Responsible for procurement, sales, and distribution
- Helps formulate the sales budgets for the category.
- Ensures optimal customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for handling commercial issues.
- Develop new trade opportunities.
- Monitor international and local market developments.
- Continuously improve work procedures and systems.
- Ensure all suppliers meet our stringent vendor approval requirements.
- Frequent travel to Visit all customers and suppliers.
Requirements:
- The successful candidate MUST reside in the greater Johannesburg.
- Industry relevant degree is essential.
- Industry relevant experience is essential.
- Excellent customer service skills - both verbal and written.
- Effective contract negotiation skills.
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and, work with minimal direction.
- Proficiency in Afrikaans & English (written and spoken).
- Willingness to travel.
