About the position
Our client is seeking an experienced Agile Coach Consultant to support engineering and product teams in embedding sustainable Agile and Kanban practices. This is a remote consulting engagement requiring 2 days per week for 6 months, with monthly review checkpoints.
Engagement: 2 days per week for 6 months, remote, with working-hours overlap into the South African business day and, where possible, US Eastern time.
Salary: Hourly, market related.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coach multiple engineering and product teams concurrently in Agile/Kanban ways of working.
- Facilitate Agile, Kanban and flow-based practices to improve delivery effectiveness.
- Apply Scrum fundamentals and provide guidance to Scrum Masters and delivery teams.
- Define, monitor and report on delivery and flow metrics, including cycle time, throughput, WIP and predictability.
- Use Flight Levels and other flow-based approaches to identify and address delivery constraints.
- Configure and optimise workflow tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, ClickUp or Asana.
- Drive sustainable behavioural and process improvements across teams.
- Leverage LLM technology to support teams in improving their practices and delivery outcomes.
- Work closely with the CTO and collaborate with the DevOps consultant responsible for delivery dashboards and data pipelines.
Requirements:
- Kanban Coach certification such as AKC, or Flight Levels Coach certification such as FLC.
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master.
- Relevant Agile/Kanban coaching certification, such as AKC, FLC or ICP-ACC, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- Strong practical knowledge of Kanban, Flight Levels and Scrum.
- Demonstrated experience coaching multiple teams simultaneously.
- Experience working with flow and delivery metrics.
- Experience configuring Agile workflow platforms.
- Experience applying LLM technology to improve team effectiveness.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience.
- Valid right to work in the applicable jurisdiction.
