About the position

Postion Summary:
The National Research Foundation (NRF) seeks to make an appointment for the position of Administrative Assistant who will be responsible for providing support to the line manager(s) and employees, assist with daily office operations, and handle administrative tasks. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative SupportManage schedules, meetings, and correspondence for the line manager and team
  • Maintain and organize files, documents, and marketing materials
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and agendas as required
  • Track and manage budgets and invoices related to communications activities
  • Assist with procurement of goods and services within the Corporate Communications unitAssist Communications team to disseminate customer communications where necessaryKeep all communications related administration up to date (purchase orders, invoices etc
  • )Taking briefs from communications managers and working alongside other team members to ensure timeous, good quality work
  • Marketing AssistanceCoordinate and execute marketing campaigns, including digital, social media, and offline strategies
  • Assist in creating content for social media, blogs, and newsletters
  • Monitor and report on marketing performance metrics and campaign results
  • Maintain the company website and ensure content is current and relevant
  • Inventory management for the unit’s marketing material including the sourcing of high-end gifts when necessaryBrand ManagementEnsure all branding guidelines are followed across internal and external communications
  • Support the production of branded materials, including brochures, presentations, and event signage
  • Assist in organizing event and promotional activities
  • Stakeholder CommunicationAct as the liaison between the Corporate Communications team and other departments
  • Manage communication with external vendors, agencies, and partners
  • Address inquiries from clients or stakeholders related to communications activities

Minimum Qualification:
  • Diploma / Advanced Certificate / NQF 6

Minimum Experience:
  • 3-5 years
  • A degree or diploma in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field
  • 3 -5 years’ experience in an administrative role within a communications or marketing departmentStrong practical knowledge of office management

  • Keen interest in brand development and marketing trends

Knowledge:
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Proven experience in communications, marketing, branding, or related fields

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret marketing data
