Actuarial Pricing Specialist

About the position

Psybergate is an IT company that builds bespoke software solutions and provides highly skilled resources to its clients.

We are looking for an Actuarial Pricing Specialist to join our short-term insurance solutions client based in Sandton on a permanent role.

This role focuses on pricing, product development, and actuarial insights supporting innovative insurance solutions within the general insurance space.
This is an exciting opportunity for an actuarial professional with strong short-term insurance experience who enjoys working on complex pricing models and developing commercially viable insurance products.
What you will be doing:

• Lead pricing reviews and repricing exercises across existing insurance products
• Support the development and structuring of new insurance products
• Develop and maintain pricing models and frameworks
• Analyse claims and risk data to provide commercial insights and recommendations
• Work closely with underwriting, product, claims, and IT teams
• Monitor product profitability and ensure technical pricing soundness
• Provide actuarial guidance to junior analysts

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics
• Progress towards Associate Actuary qualification
• F103 (General Insurance) exam (Essential)
• Minimum 5 years actuarial experience within short-term insurance
• Short term insurance experience (Essential)  
• Strong pricing and modelling experience
• Knowledge of insurance products, contracts, and regulatory frameworks
• Experience with SQL, Python, or R advantageous
