Accountant – Manufacturing

About the position

Description/Synopsis:
A well-established manufacturing group in Germiston is seeking a dynamic and analytical Accountant to join their finance team. The successful candidate will support multiple business units within the group and take ownership of various reporting and analysis functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has completed their articles (SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA) and is looking to build on their post-article experience in a fast-paced, industrial environment.

 

Minimum Requirements:

• BCom Degree in Accounting or related qualification
• Completed SAICA, SAIPA or CIMA articles
• Strong analytical and reporting skills
• Advanced Excel skills
• Manufacturing or logistics sector experience advantageous

 

Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly financial analysis across multiple manufacturing and operational divisions
• Prepare and review income statements, journals, and reconciliations
• Perform monthly GL and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure data integrity and audit readiness
• Compile and monitor annual budgets, comparing actual results to forecasts
• Generate monthly management reports with financial insights for operational leadership
• Provide financial oversight and support across logistics, exports, and internal operational units
• Support inventory control and cost adjustment processes
• Assist with resolving supplier queries and asset register maintenance
• Liaise with auditors during year-end audit processes
• Complete government compliance forms including statistical submissions
• Contribute to HR-related updates such as employee structure documentation
• Participate in ad-hoc operational tasks, cross-functional reporting, and team mentorship
