About the position
Role Overview:
The Accountant will support the finance team by managing accurate financial records, assisting with reporting cycles, and handling daily accounting activities. This role is ideal for a BCom graduate with 5+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience who is looking to grow in a fast-paced finance environment.
Primary Duties:
- Process and maintain daily financial transactions.
- Prepare journal entries and update the general ledger.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Support budgeting and monthly forecasting processes.
- Prepare daily cash flow reports from bank transactions.
- Assist with VAT submissions and statutory compliance.
- Compile management reports as needed.
- Provide documentation for audits and ensure proper record-keeping.
Required Qualifications:
- BCom in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Additional accounting courses or certifications (advantageous).
Required Experience & Competencies:
- 5+ years’ bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
