Accountant

About the position

A well-established residential property management company based in Johannesburg Central is seeking an Accountant to join its finance team. The business manages a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, and retail properties, with a focus on delivering efficient administration, tenant support, and sustainable property solutions.

The role is responsible for preparing and reviewing financial information, management accounts, budgets, and forecasts, as well as ensuring compliance with reporting standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review financial information, management accounts, budgets, and forecasts.
• Compile and analyze budgets in consultation with various departments.
• Process journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and prepare monthly management packs.
• Draft financial statements using Caseware/Draftworx.
• Manage tax and VAT submissions, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Assist with audits, including preparation of working papers and responding to auditor queries.
• Attend portfolio meetings and provide financial information to support decision-making.

Requirements:

• BCom degree in Accounting (essential).
• Completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles (essential).
• Experience in management accounting (budgeting, monthly accounts, forecasting).
• Proficiency in MS Excel (Advanced); Draftworx/Caseware preferred.
• Exeprience on MDA
• Knowledge of company tax, provisional tax, and VAT advantageous.
