What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it) In this role, you'll be responsible for the full accounting function across multiple entities. You'll maintain general ledgers, prepare monthly management accounts, and perform reconciliations and variance analysis. Month-end and year-end journals will be part of your routine, as will ensuring the accuracy of financial data and monitoring expenditure to keep costs in check. You'll handle daily cash flow monitoring, bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions and loan accounts, ensuring everything ties up seamlessly. On the compliance side, you'll assist with tax returns, VAT, PAYE, and income tax submissions, as well as statutory returns like CIPC filings, EMP501s, WCA, and FSCA reporting. You'll also liaise with external auditors, support audit processes, and collaborate with the Bookkeeper on daily processing. This role is an in office role, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm. What you'll need You'll need a Bachelors in Accounting (or equivalent), with at least 3 years accounting experience, if you have completed your articles then you will need at least 2 years post articles experience. You should bring a solid understanding of IFRS for SMEs, tax, and audit principles. If you have experience with multiple entities, that would be highly favourable. Attention to detail and solutions driven are key characteristics that we are looking for. Strong Excel skills are essential, with experience in Xero and payroll software advantageous. To succeed, you'll also need to be Cape Town based with your own transport. As this is a financial services firm, you will be required to have a clear credit record.
