About the position
Our insurance client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join their dynamic team. You will play a critical role in supporting the accounting function, ensuring accurate and efficient financial transactions, and driving process improvements. Your role will be to accurately control and process financial information and prepare financial reports and analysis to enable business processes.
Job description & duties:
· Support the business's accounting function.
· Accurately and efficiently capture and report transactions.
· Prepare and review financial transactions and reports.
· Compile and prepare monthly and year-end reconciliations.
· Identify and report accounting or reporting issues.
· Investigate and resolve outstanding queries related to accounting issues or reconciliations.
· Get involved operationally in the credit control and retention process.
· Process on our policy administration system, considering the impact on operational processes and clients.
· Prepare and send out monthly reports for insurers, reinsurers, and intermediaries.
· Recalculate premium transactions to check system data accuracy.
· Perform group scheme member premium reconciliations and liaise with groups to resolve differences and arrears.
· Perform reconciliation and completeness checks between our line of business system and data warehouse reports.
· Prepare and/or review statutory reporting.
· Ensure company reporting deadlines are met.
· Contribute to enhancing systems and processes to improve financial management.
· Build and maintain relationships with clients and internal and external stakeholders.
Technical requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
· Degree in Financial Management or Accounting
Minimum Experience:
· At least 3 to 5 years of working experience in finance, beyond just article experience.
· Intermediate to advanced Excel
Technical Requirements:
· Solid experience and understanding of financial accounting principles, business processes, and risks.
· Analytical skills.
